You can’t look for someone’s name and then unblock them on Snapchat since blocking someone hides their account from you and yours from them. Instead, go to the Snapchat settings to retrieve your list of prohibited users. How? Read on.
- Open Snapchat
The first step to unblocking someone on Snapchat is to open the app. If you have not already done so, you will need to download and install the app on your device.
- Access your Friends List
Once you have opened Snapchat, you will need to access your Friends List. To do this, swipe right from the main screen. This will take you to the Friends List screen.
- Find the person you want to unblock
Next, you will need to find the person you want to unblock. If you have a lot of friends on Snapchat, this may take a bit of scrolling. However, if you know the person’s username, you can use the search bar at the top of the screen to search for them.
- Click on their name
Once you have found the person you want to unblock, click on their name to open their profile.
- Click on the gear icon
In the upper right-hand corner of the screen, you will see a gear icon. Click on this icon to access the person’s settings.
- Select “Unblock”
From the settings menu, select “Unblock.” You will see a confirmation message asking if you are sure you want to unblock the person. Click “Yes” to confirm.
- Confirm that the person has been unblocked
Once you have unblocked the person, you should see their name appear in your Friends List again. You can click on their name to confirm that you are able to view their content again.
What to do after Unblocking someone?
By blocking a user, you stop communicating with them and they are deleted from your Friends list. You must look for the friend and re-add them after unblocking them.
Enter the username in the top search field, then click Add to the right of the user name and profile image. The friend must also add you back if they are not a public user.
